Founded in 2020 by Head Coach Darren Hawney, Relentless Judo was born from a vision to unite school-based students under one team, fostering camaraderie and excellence.

While judo is an individual sport, we believe it’s the collective support of coaches, teammates, parents, and teachers that transforms effort into triumph—and individuals into a family.

With over 30 years immersed in judo, Darren brings unparalleled expertise to the mat. A former Great Britain competitor, he channels his competitive experience and two decades of coaching into nurturing judokas of all levels.

Alongside his wife, whose lifelong dedication to the sport enriches our club’s culture, Darren has guided hundreds of students, from beginners to national contenders.

Since our founding, Relentless Judo has blossomed into a vibrant hub for enthusiasts of all backgrounds. Our doors are open to first-timers discovering the thrill of judo (many of whom become lifelong devotees!) and seasoned athletes striving to master advanced techniques.

New to judo? Junior Club Coach Angela Dunn specialises in making fundamentals fun. Through dynamic, interactive lessons, Angela breaks down both the practical and theoretical aspects of judo, ensuring beginners and veterans alike stay motivated. Her playful approach demystifies complex concepts, turning every class into an adventure.
